Susan Rentoul uses ephemera from journeys and life to create landscapes and still lives in collage and paint. These are informed by experiments with various media that she makes in art classes at Putney School of Art and Morley College. She travels to Iona in the Inner Hebrides every year and is inspired by the amazing colours and ever-changing weather.
Sue’s other passion is swimming and she is often drawn to the sea as a subject so that she can swim and then paint!
Susan Rentoul studied graphic design at Kingston Polytechnic. After a stint at a publishers in Soho, Sue travelled to Australia for a year, working and painting around the country. Various design jobs followed in London, interspersed with travel and painting. Her graphic design business has been based in Furzedown for the last 30 years. Sue has always taken classes in life drawing, portraiture, pottery, printing and still life.
