This Mental Health Awareness Project is the culmination of 4 years work by Glyn, from inception to show.

Glyn hopes to raise awareness of mental health issues as well as raise a boatload of cash for the charity, MIND UK. He says:

I always thought my mental health was good; until 2020 when during the coronavirus lockdown I was diagnosed with depression. Using my camera I want to help give confidence to people, no matter what age or gender to speak about the mental health issues that they have been challenged with in their own lives. So I'm raising money for MIND and I would love it if you could share this fundraiser and maybe even give a little to an extremely worthwhile charity.

He will also be offering to do Portrait headshots in the special studio space he's created in Sprout for anyone interested, with all profits going to MIND.

Using fabrics, threads, paint and dyes to create interesting patterns and surfaces has always been part of my personal and professional life. I grew up to the sound of a sewing machine as my mother was a tailoress who worked from home. Now I produce works which are a fusion of hand printed and dyed fabrics with surface detail in hand or machine stitching. Sue Owen

I never seem able to predict what my finished paintings and collages are going to look like, in fact a preordained outcome would be very unusual for me. I’m happiest working with a pile of old magazine pages sorted into colours, fragmented graphic images and vintage typefaces etc, together with a full set of acrylics. It’s an open minded and playful approach to picture making which starts with chaos and ends (usually!) in harmonious colours and shapes.
