The Artist Hub
With a slightly changed format, the Hub is in its' second year. It meets on the ‘middle' Mondays in our exhibition calendar, when Sprout is not normally open to the public.
Artist Members come together to exchange ideas, share skills and opinions. Usually there is a group of around 12+, who come along to draw each other, share "the one that doesn't work" and discuss any number of creative topics - it is all about sharing and is great fun.

“We don’t read poems because, like bran flakes, they’re good for us; we read them because we love them – and if you haven’t found a poem you really love, keep looking and I am sure you will.” Erica Wagner
Poetry at Sprout
Poetry at Sprout started over 15 years ago as part of the Pass On A Poem movement. 20+ members come along in rotation, normally no more than 10 at a time, bringing with them a poem or two that they have not written themselves. The range and time span of poets is pretty vast - from Spenser to Vanessa Kissule, for example, with the joys of Shakespeare to Nazim Hikmet, Thomas to Yevtushenko, John Donne and 'The Houses in Between'.
We to troll through our books (or the internet) to find something we find special, to share with the others. Thus keeping in touch with the joy of it.

Playreading at Sprout
Playreading at Sprout came about through the joy of the Poetry reading group, but brings together others with a different taste.
John strives to find sources of ‘sets' with varying plots and cast sizes for the group to read together. We have read Murder in the Cathedral, Chicken Soup with Barley, Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams and Poliakoff.
Everyone is welcome.
