Acrylic Painting Techniques Workshop

Join experienced abstract artist and teacher Claire Chandler at the Sprout Gallery and enjoy an evening of exploring acrylic paint techniques that will encourage new ideas and inspire your creativity! Claire will guide you through the various techniques, step by step, that she uses in her own paintings. You will:

Use a variety of brushes and palette knives for different effects
Practice blending smoothly from one colour into another.
Apply paint with other household items/ utensils, such as a plastic card, sponge, squeegee, acetate sheet
Apply layers of paint and scrape through with a squeegee or other tools or when dry
Add acrylic structure gel and acrylic gloss medium into your paint to achieve more fluidity/ texture
Practice layering colours with acrylic glaze medium to achieve transparency and depth in your painting
Skill level: Beginner - no painting or drawing experience necessary.
