Authenticity is a group exhibition showcasing a collective of South London artists who are committed to nurturing creativity in our local community through sustainable art practices. They hold workshops to make art available to everyone. The exhibition will feature pieces from four artists at various stages in their careers, each with different interests. They all want to try new things, push their artistic boundaries, and change how people see their styles. They also think that making art more affordable can benefit both artists and the community. All artworks will be priced at under £300.
Uki Otake studied for a BA in Fine Art at the University of East London and an MFA in Fine Art Media at the Slade School of Fine Art. She has exhibited as a finalist in various competitions in and around London, including the Threadneedle Prize for Painting and Sculpture and the Art Gemini Prize. In 2025, she received the International Confederation of Art Critics Award at the London Biennale 2025. She recently started painting portraits after years of exploring various other subjects, and she brings a wealth of ideas and skills from her past painting experiences to this new focus.
Jana Rychvalska has an architectural and landscape design background and has been a multimedia artist since 2020. Her creative range spans from vibrant, geometrically influenced compositions resembling mother boards, to painting natural world themes such as tropical parrots, or surrealistic works based on language, such as ‘Raining Cats and Dogs’. Her ‘A3 Framed Abstract Media’ style led to ‘Glow at Night’ celestial inspired works, both popular with UK and overseas buyers. In 2025, her 30 years abroad debuted with her 1st international exhibition ‘PO-LON’, Slovakia; followed by publishing a children's rhyme book ‘The World Needs More Unicorns and Flying Pigs’. Lastly, her 2024 ‘House Keys project’ is an ongoing international photodocumentation and comprises over a thousand storytelling compositions.
Maria Roman is a self-taught watercolor artist based in South London. Her artwork centers on botanical themes, animals, and scenes from the natural environment surrounding her. She employs delicate layers of watercolor and intricate linework to depict her close observations of nature.
Claire Brennan was born in Ireland and having lived in a great many places, photography was an early interest and I then went on to study an Art Foundation. After learning more about photography and video in London I then gained a BA Hons in Fine Art in Chelsea. I then very much enjoyed experimenting and learning new disciplines. Ceramics, bookbinding, printmaking , sculpture, collage and glass art were amongst the courses I embarked on. My artwork sells regularly online, at fairs and in shops in the locality. Recently, one of my mixed media pieces was longlisted for the Saatchi. I've had three solo shows and I enjoy taking part in group exhibitions.
