This week our stunning window display is by talented couple Sue and Steve Owen

Sue originally trained as a Home Economics teacher in a wonderful old house on Clapham Common. After teaching textiles in Croydon and Merton for over 30 years she is now retired and lives in Streatham. She loves having the time to create her own work and make use of the mountain of materials collected over the years - combining print and stitch, in particular layering shapes, patterns and colours to form new images such as her series of fish studies.

Steve studied Fine Art Painting at Wimbledon School of Art in the early 70’s before settling in a flat in Tooting above a butchers shop overlooking RACS. Throughout the 80’s and 90’s he lived in various parts of London before settling in Streatham more recently.
Employed in various Art teaching posts in schools and Further Education he is now retired and spending more time painting and exploring various printmaking and collage techniques. He also donates his time to be on the Sprout Committee for which we are hugely grateful
