Lockdown Reflections sq

What did you do in Lockdown? How did your life or daily patterns change?
"Lockdown Reflections" is a community exhibition displaying a range of artwork, thoughts and creative expressions exploring the many different experiences people had during the 2020/2021Lockdown periods.

Our exhibition incorporates a broad range of work by members of our community of all ages and abilities including:
Goldfinch Primary School
Graveney Academy
Furzedown Youth Centre
The Furzedown Project
Wandsworth Prison
Professional Artists
Local residents and families

We tell the stories behind some incredible local community initiatives showing how communities really can pull together to help each other and make a difference:
Critical Support (formerly Critical NHS)
A Gift from Furzedown
The Rose & Crown - Buy Art, Feed Tooting
Sew Furzedown's Thank you banner for the NHS

We have some fantastic examples of work created by individuals who found more time to experiment with new mediums, hobbies and creative outlets.

‘A time to grow and share’ montages show wonderful examples of home-grown produce and some great ‘makes and bakes’ as food and baking became even more popular during lockdown.

We are delighted to be able to include several films made during Lockdown:
- "Unlocking Furzedown" - a 2020 film created by furzedown residents.
- "We'll meet again, Wandsworth on Lockdown" Directed by Sandra Munoz-Alvarez, Esther Clevely and Sam Evans
- "Beyond all limits" Written by Esther Clevely & Anita Dowman (Providence House), Videography & Post Production: Sandra Munoz-Alvarez "Keepsake Videos
- The Graveney Collective - A Film showing some of the huge volume of work we would love to have shown but could not, due to space.
- 2 artists’ films capturing moments of everyday life in lockdown.

You can still add your thoughts or feelings on a 'Lockdown Like or Loathe' card which can be picked up from Sprout Arts and brought back whilst the show is on. These will all be displayed on our ‘reflection’ tree for the duration of the show.

We have a free workshop hosted by Tracey Elizabeth Downing on Thursday 11th November from 2-5pm. Limited to 8 places for safety reasons, this promises to be a lovely way to spend an afternoon learning from a professional artist and creating something related to your own lockdown experience. to book a place, please email This email address is being protected from spambots.
